They first appear in 17th century England when servants would steal a silver spoon from their master to have them turned into a wedding ring. They were traditionally worn as thumb rings. Spoon rings made a resurgence in the 70's and are still popular today.
John Marchello fashions his unique work from his studio in Ypsilante, Michigan. He strives to show the re-imagined beauty in objects that many consider outdates or trash.
